The Weekend Food Bag program has been designed to help families who need additional food support for their children on the weekends during the school year. It is specifically for families who are struggling with food insecurity and find it extremely helpful to have this support for children.

The bags are filled with mostly non-perishable items such as pasta and sauce, tuna and mayo, peanut butter and jelly, bread, and additional snacks. Weekly milk gift cards from Stewart's Shops are included.

We currently fund the program at Mettawee Community School in West Pawlet, and we pack off-site and deliver food bags to Green Ridge Elementary School in Dorset. Based on donation, we plan to expand this program to other area schools.
